Denver Union Station

Denver Union Station (DUS).

Located in lower downtown Denver, Union Station has been  a landmark since it opened in 1881. More recently however, Union Station and its surrounding area are seeing massive redevelopment. DUS is becoming the hub of RTD’s bus service, lightrail, and commuter rail lines, as well as remaining a fully funcitonal Amtrak passenger station.

Pedestrian Bridge

Working under Kiewit construction group, ALCAM has been fortunate to get involved with this historic project. We’re providing and installing a railing and guardrail system for the pedestrian bridge on the north side of the station area. This new pedestrian bridge will connect the station platforms and provides street access to downtown and the new Wewatta plaza. Using high grade stainless steel, we’ve created a sleek modern looking guardrail system that will last for many years to come.

In addition the work on the pedestrian bridge, ALCAM has been able to furnish and install a large 60’ x 12’ rolled steel canopy that sits on the north end of an Amtrak platform. Also we’ve been able to provide miscellaneous metal furnishings and small fabricated parts to help the project along.

ALCAM is proud to provide such visible pieces of work for this city’s new transportation hub.
